Chemical prelithiation

Prelithiation through a chemical reaction with a lithium-containing reagent system.

Chemical prelithiation introduces lithium through a reaction with a lithium-containing reagent system rather than through an applied electrical profile. It is frequently discussed for material screening and for cases where an electrical process step is not preferred.

Reagent handling, reaction control, homogeneity and material compatibility have to be evaluated for each material system. Safety and handling requirements are part of the process definition.

As with every approach, suitability depends on the project. We compare chemical prelithiation against the other approaches based on your materials, targets and laboratory environment.
