Direct-contact prelithiation
Prelithiation by bringing the electrode into contact with a lithium source under defined conditions.
Direct-contact prelithiation brings a prepared electrode into contact with a lithium source under controlled conditions. It is used for electrode-level trials and comparative studies.
Contact conditions, pressure, time, atmosphere control and homogeneity across the electrode area require careful process definition, particularly when results have to be comparable between samples.
The approach is one of four that we evaluate with clients. The selection depends on the material system, development stage, equipment environment and economic requirements.
